Circular Salutogenic Design
Over the past two decades, British interior design studio House of Grey have crafted a signature aesthetic which has gathered momentum across the global design community. As a pioneering design studio our fundamental aim has become the need to leave a positive design legacy when renovating and restoring modern and historic spaces, for both residential or commercial use. Our purpose is to create interior landscapes that have inherent health benefits and minimal impact on the planet. We have developed a whole-person-whole-world approach to designing and building spaces for our clients which combines our signature aesthetic with Salutogenic Design principles and cradle-to-cradle materials. We call this: Circular Salutogenic Design.
House of Grey consistently demonstrates across our Private Client and Hospitality portfolio of work that ecological building and sustainable design doesn’t mean the owner or client needs to compromise on aesthetics. A building or a space can still be practical, durable, and ethical, as well as beautiful, comfortable and luxurious.

Interior Architecture
Working alongside all RIBA stages, we carry out every aspect of the design process from an early architectural review of the proposed building, through to site implementation and client handover. Our creative analysis will transform a space, and create a healthful environment with a positive, natural ambience.
Interior Design — Private Clients
With experience in both large-scale projects for international developers and one-off residential refurbishments for private clients, our approach is always to create a restorative home retreat that will provide the resident with the space needed to reconnect, replenish energy, step back & slow down.
Interior Design — Hospitality
Our unique approach to hospitality environments seeks to create timeless destinations that our signature aesthetic with Circular Salutogenic Design principles and cradle-to-cradle materials. With experience of working both with independent owners and major operators, we take a conscientious and considered design approach to bestow a sense of place, ambience and atmosphere. Detailed research into project, brand, heritage, location ensures the design stands the test of time.
Interior Design — Spa & Wellness Hospitality
Circular Salutogenic Design is the ideal approach to designing spa and wellness spaces, where we strive to create authentic experiences whilst providing an escape from the complexities of everyday life. Rekindling humanity’s innate connection with nature bestows us with a renewed sense of ease, has a calming yet inspiring influence on the space and a wholly restorative effect on the end user.
Interior Design — Workplace
Through lateral thinking and thoughtful design, we can increase employee satisfaction and productivity, maximise the use of a space and eliminate sensory overwhelm – creating a calm and focused working environment, to be appreciated by all. Our fundamental aim is to create workplace environments that people look forward to coming into each day, and can leave feeling inspired and energised.
Interior Design – Retail
We create bespoke retail environments for like-minded brands, driven by experience and authenticity- one that is emotional not transactional, and with meaningful local influences to provide a sense of place. We design with people in mind – by carefully considering how they will interact with the space, we make it user-friendly and practical, creating authentic, thoughtful spaces that build stronger connections between people and brands.
Bespoke Design
At House of Grey we understand the importance of unique and bespoke items that set our interiors apart from the ubiquity of mass-manufactured furniture and accessories. We work alongside trusted makers, artisans and craftsmen, with whom we have longstanding relationships and who share our design principles and philosophies. This allows us to provide a unique solution to a particular space, executed to the highest level of quality and finesse, with conscientiously sourced materials and considered detailing.
FF&E and Procurement
Every item, material and resource we specify is fully researched and traced back to its origins to ensure it has a positive impact on human and ecological health when in production, in use and once it has been discarded. This conscientious, considered sourcing of FF&E and OS&E ensures that our procurement process and quality controls are of the highest standard in the industry. Every item has a purpose and fits exactly - and allows us to deliver a unique and considered end product.
Interior Styling + Production
At House of Grey we bring our years of experience in styling for renowned international luxury brands to provide the attention to detail and finishing touches to an architectural space. This level of detail is thought through from conception to delivery, holistically considering the space and everything in it from the outset.
Artwork Curation & Consultancy
We understand the importance that a well curated artwork scheme plays in the overall success of a space. We work closely with artists and makers with whom we have long standing relationships and who's philosophies resonate with our own. The result is a considered and unique artwork scheme, tailored to a specific space or project. We have built a platform for new artists and a creative community to elevate the craft of those whose work is aligned with our values.

Our Founder and Creative Director - Louisa Grey, has 22 years experience in interior design and styling that spans designing luxury apartments for major developers, to private residential renovations. Louisa is renowned for her holistic approach to design in both work and life.
