Our New Studio - The Old School
When we first stepped inside this former Victorian school, we weren't searching for a new studio. We were searching for a place that could hold creativity, conversation and community in equal measure—a place where people could gather, learn and connect.
Our intention was never simply to restore a beautiful building, but to create a space that feels genuinely welcoming: somewhere to discover new makers, share ideas, attend workshops or simply sit quietly with a coffee.
Guided by our belief that design should support both people and planet, every decision has been made with longevity, craftsmanship and wellbeing in mind. From preserving the building's heritage to working with natural materials and local makers, this project reflects our commitment to creating spaces that endure and evolve over time.
More than a studio, The Old School is a place for connection. Throughout the year, it will open its doors to exhibitions, workshops, shared meals and conversations, creating opportunities for our community to come together and shape the next chapter of this building's story.
Because, ultimately, buildings are only ever as meaningful as the lives lived within them.
We have always believed that the spaces we inhabit shape the way we feel. The places we return to each day quietly influence our wellbeing, our relationships and our sense of belonging. Thoughtful design, therefore, is about far more than aesthetics; it is about creating environments that support connection, encourage curiosity and allow people to feel at ease.
As our studio enters this new chapter, our hope is that The Od School becomes a home not only for House of Grey, but for the wider creative community that surrounds it. A place where ideas are exchanged over long lunches, where makers share their craft and where conversations unfold naturally.
In a world that increasingly encourages us to live separately, perhaps the greatest luxury is not more space, but spaces that bring us closer together.
For us, this building is not simply a studio. It is an invitation: to gather, to create and to imagine a different way of living together.
